Black Oil Sunflower

Black sunflower seeds attract a wide variety of wild birds. They are high in fat and protein, which is essential for wild birds, especially in colder temperatures. It is our top seed choice.

How to clean your feeder properly:

1. Disassemble your feeder. Take apart your feeder and empty any remaining seeds. If you notice seeds stuck in the ventilation system at the bottom of the feeder, simply use a toothpick to remove them.
2. Soak your feeder in a bleach solution. Place your feeder in a 1:10 bleach/water solution and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
3. Wash your feeder. Put your feeder in warm soapy water and use a brush to scrub all parts thoroughly.
4. Rinse your feeder. Transfer your feeder to warm water and rinse it well.
5. Air-dry your feeder. Let your feeder air dry completely. Ensure it is fully dry before refilling it.

Brome Bird Care recommends cleaning feeders every 2 to 3 weeks. (You can always use bleach wipes to clean your feeder between washes.)
