Steps to properly clean your feeder:
- Disassemble your feeder: Take apart your feeder and empty any remaining seeds. If you notice seeds stuck in the ventilation system at the bottom of the feeder, simply use a toothpick to remove them.
- Soak your feeder in a bleach solution: Place your feeder in a 1:10 bleach/water solution and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
- Wash your feeder: Place your feeder in warm soapy water and use a brush to scrub all parts thoroughly.
- Rinse your feeder: Transfer your feeder to warm water and rinse it thoroughly.
- Air dry your feeder: Let your feeder air dry completely. Make sure it is entirely dry before refilling it.
Brome Bird Care recommends cleaning feeders every 2 to 3 weeks. (You can always use bleach wipes to clean your feeder between washes.)
A clean feeder is a healthy feeder!
