Make sure to carefully read the Advantage II for Cats product usage guide before purchasing and applying this product to your pet.
Bayer Advantage® II kills 98 to 100% of fleas on a cat within 24 hours of treatment. Fleas, eggs, and larvae also die when they come into contact with dead skin from an animal treated with Advantage® II.
Once applied to the back of the neck, Advantage® II is not absorbed through the skin. It spreads in a thin layer and binds to the sebum of your pet’s skin. Upon contact with the treated skin and fur, adult fleas become paralyzed and die.
Advantage® II not only eliminates adult fleas on contact, but thanks to pyriproxyfen (an insect growth regulator) it contains, which spreads throughout the home via hair and dead skin shed by the cat, it also prevents flea eggs and larvae from progressing to the next stage of development and kills them effectively.
Advantage® II comes in a pre-measured applicator tube tailored to your cat’s weight. It spreads easily on the skin to ensure whole-body flea protection upon contact.
Ingredients: imidacloprid, pyriproxyfen
GUARANTEED ANALYSIS: Imidacloprid 9.1% and Pyriproxyfen 0.46%
Apply the entire contents of the applicator tube at the base of the skull. Repeat monthly. If early retreatment is necessary, a 7-day interval is required before the next application.
Advantage® II is applied topically (on the skin) and kills fleas on contact; they don’t need to bite to be killed. With oral medications, fleas must bite to be killed.
How often should I use Advantage® II?
Advantage® II should be applied once a month and can be used year-round to prevent flea infestations.
My pet lives indoors only. Should I still use Advantage® II?
Yes. Humans and other animals can unknowingly bring fleas into the house. Immature fleas can remain dormant until conditions are favorable for them to develop into adults, at which point they infest pets. This is why it’s important to treat indoor-only pets as well.
I see fleas on only one of my pets. Can I treat just that pet?
No. All cats or dogs in the home should be treated, as the infested pet is likely to spread fleas to other animals living in the same environment.
At what age can I start using Advantage® II on my cat or dog?
Advantage® II is approved for use on dogs and puppies 7 weeks and older, and cats and kittens 8 weeks and older.
